Our Story
I am a life long resident of Guelph and have a rich history of this little and not so little city. I alongside my family, my husband Josh of 28 years and my young adult children; Scarlett, Maya and York are very invested in my activities in Guelph. Joy Ride Mobility Inc. was birthed out of my own personal experience navigating the complexities that come with aging and desiring to live independently in the community through providing care for my grandma after she needed a hip replacement several years ago. My grandma needed episodic support during her recovery which I was able to assist with along with other devoted family members. Through this journey I was able to see the valuable benefits in assisting seniors with the few supports they need to continue to live independently and the joy and increased quality of life that it brings through being able to serve in this way. It has also been a stark realization for me to experience the health care crisis that we currently face and especially our seniors who are our most vulnerable; not enough beds in Long Term Care homes and long wait lists to care for our loved ones and exhausting our family who are doing their best to help out their family. I want to be part of the solution to meeting the needs of todays seniors and honouring their wishes to live independently wherever possible with dignity and joy.
